Basic steps to register for balcony power plant
The registration of the mini solar system is divided into two parts: The first part is the registration of the mini solar system with your local network operator, although it should be noted that this process must be completed before the mini solar system is installed. The second part is: registering your mini solar system in the market master data register of the Federal Network Agency (MaStR), which, in contrast to the processes mentioned above, can be completed within one month of installing the mini solar system. Both processes are carried out online and are free.
Changes in the registration of balcony systems in 2024: As soon as "Solar package 1" is officially adopted, the obligation to register your balcony system with the network operator will no longer apply and you theoretically only need to register your mini solar system in the market master data register Register the Federal Network Agency (MaStR). |

- By telephone: Call the electricity provider directly using the phone number on your electricity bill and ask which network operator you should register your balcony power plant with.
- By zip code: If you don't have information, you can check the network operator based on the zip code of your address by entering your zip code in the Trouble report.

Registration procedure for network operators
After finding your network operator and preparing your registration documents, fill out your network operator form, the whole process takes about 15 minutes and is completely free. It is important to remind you that currently only 600 watt balcony systems (800 watts are not yet approved) have the privilege of simplified registration, i.e.H Modules up to 2.000 watts and micro inverters with an output of up to 600 watts. 1200 watt, 1.600 watt or 2.000-watt balcony systems are not entitled to a simplified registration with the network operator.
Registration of my balcony power plant in the market master data register
Entering the mini PV system in the market master data register is even easier; it must be done within one month of installing the 800 watt balcony solar system. The entire process is carried out on the Market Master Data Register page, new users must create an account and follow the instructions to complete the registration. The entire process takes about 20 minutes and is completely free. You can also change your previous registration details online if you wish (this is the case if you want to upgrade your 600 watt balcony power station to an 800 watt balcony power station). It is worth mentioning that the battery part of the balcony power plant with storage must also be registered.
After completing the two tasks mentioned above, your balcony solar system can be officially and legally put into operation. The 800 watt balcony power plant will pay for itself in 2-3 years and save you 200-300 euros per year on your electricity bill. If you want to experience the energy transition, the 800 watt mini PV system is the right choice for you.
